Spring Nails: OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston

So by the end of the week I was 1). over green glitter nails and 2). I had enough layers of that Fresh Frog of Bel Air polish on that the polish literally just popped off like fake nails. Unfortunately it took a layer or two of my own nail with it, oops.

On my nail polish excursion last week I also got OPI Guy Meets Gal-Veston because it seemed a little bit different from my usual pinks...and by "a little bit" I mean "every so slightly more coral." Because that's significant to me. Although in the light it looks more tropical fuchsia like, but for some reason my camera didn't want to pick that up.

I'm not sure why you need 3 photos of the same thing, but you do.

I have to be honest, I'm not sure why sheer colors even exist. Aside from french manicures who really ever needs a sheer polish? I put on about 3 layers to get this opacity and probably would have rather had 4 but I was going to bed soon and didn't want to wait forever for my nails to try. As it is I ended up getting sheet impressions on my nails (ugh!) and having to add another top coat this morning, which led to some bubbles and ripples and things that generally annoy me.

I don't know, I like how it kind of looks like a glaze, I suppose it's growing on me...but I'd still it rather be opaque.

  1. I loveeee love this pop of color! I have a similar OPI one (cajun shrimp) that I'm wearing now. It gets me in the mood for summer :) BTW, I'm a new follower!

    1. Hi, thanks for following! For some reason I pretty much only wear reds and pinks, so I'll have to add Cajun Shrimp to my want list. Because the 10 pinks I already have are not enough :P

  2. I looooooooooove OPI. I was a nail technician fresh out of high school and fell madly in love with the brand. That color is awesome.

    1. Yes! For a long time I thought that their cult following was just a result of dominating the market, but I really do think they make a superior product.
