Boho Beauties - Summer Style Inspiration

(source)

It was suppose to be 102 degrees here on Sunday. This is pretty abnormal for our area, where it really doesn't start to get warm until July, and even then it rarely breaks into the 90s. That being said, I think they've revised the forecast,  but I don't really care. I'm in the mood for summer.

For me, summer means hot, humid weather. And that means light, airy clothes. Who wants to get bogged down in tight clothes? And not to be totally gross, but am I the only one who sweats when its 90 something degrees out? I don't want to be wearing clothes that get armpit sweat stains, or worse, crotch sweat (ew, yeah, I went there, no one ever wants to go there, so let's just nip that at the bud).

No, my thing is dresses, skirts, baggy loose shirts, burnout fabrics, etc...Excet my style usually has a little bit more rocker chic in it, kind of like Boho Meets Miami - which might be my summer mantra. That is a total lie, I can never commit to any one thing, let alone a style theme for the entire summer.

At least not when I love nautical blue and white bottoms so much. Oh, and my one critique of this style genre is the fact that when it is hot, humid, and/or windy, having your hair down, especially when it is long and wavy, is just plain gross and generally disastrous.

  1. 102 degrees?! Holy cow. I think I love all summer styles, boho definitely included. That white dress with the bright paisley pattern is gorgeous!

    1. Yeah, that was short lived, it's back down to mid 80s I think - but I agree, that dress is super cute (and super short!)

  2. I live in the summer on the beach 6 months of the year and while I used to have ideas on what to wear what I've learnt is this:
Having my hair loose is impossible. It is too windy and too hot and gets in the way so I tend to wear it in a ponytale.
I love loose flowing skirts and would LOVE to own every single bit of clothing in your post here but in the end what I end up wearing is a bikini and a tunic. That way my legs can cool off in the day and in the evening the mosqitoes are a constant threat so no matter how hot it is we put on long trousers, socks and white shirts.
Makeup? I won't even go there. I surf and tend to jump in and out of the ocean on the hotter days so in the end I end up going makeup free but I still lag around my enormous make up bag every year in the hope of one day be able to putting it on. Lip-stains work and Bobbi Browns long lasting eyeshadows. Hurray! X

    1. Haha this is so true - when I am at the beach (or some place very warm) all I ever wear is a bathing suit and a coverup - I think I would have tons of them, or maybe splurge on the really expensive ones since I'd be wearing them often.

As for makeup, some waterproof mascara and maybe tinted sunscreen and lipbalm and I'd be all set!
