Sunday Currently IX

Lilly Pulitzer Notepad, Essie nail polish in Navigate Her, India Hicks Island Living Hand Therapy

The first Sunday Currently of 2014! At the moment I'm in Buffalo actively avoiding the foot of snow outside by making lists and giving myself a spring manicure with India Hicks Island Living Hand Therapy and Essie nail polish in Navigate Her. If you've been reading my blog, then you'll know India Hicks Island Living Lotion is one of my favorite lotions, but this is my first time using the hand cream. I'm sure I'll like it and it is definitely necessary with the dry winter weather.

Yesterday I made Tony take a million pictures so I could get this one decent one. He is not a fan of the fact that I am now part of Les Blogueurs, but I can occasionally manage him to take photos for a minute or two.

READING - I don't know how it happened, but somewhere along the line I became one of those people who farted around on their internet with crappy TV in the background instead of reading. I've decided that this needs to stop immediately and am instituting some mandatory reading time. I just finished Sarah's Key. Suggestions for my next read? I'm thinking In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson (who also wrote The Devil in the White City, which I am a big fan of).

WRITING - Nothing particularly exciting, mostly I've just been prepping for the spring semester, which starts tomorrow!

LISTENING - I need some new music! With all the running I've [supposedly] been doing, I've really exhausted my playlists. Any suggestions for new music?

THINKING - Mostly I've been thinking about my new business venture. I'm putting in an order so that hopefully within the next couple months, my bath and body shop will be up and running! I just need to get my labels designed and printed!

SMELLING - I ransacked Marshalls earlier this week and got a bunch of Yankee Candles on sale. Right now I'm enjoying some vanilla musk type scent from across the room. I am usually very anti-foodie scents, but this one is delicious.

WISHING - That it was spring, instead of the middle of winter. Supposedly the temperature has been something like 20 degrees below the average (before windchill). A few weeks ago it was -43. Yes, -43. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

BUYING - As I mentioned in my last post, I'm really excited about having my own bathroom. Once again, Marshalls has helped me out with these awesome bath products (I have an addiction).

WEARING - Pajamas! J.Crew Flannel bottoms, a T-shirt, and one of Tony's giant sweaters. I am also wearing a Lux on my lap. Now that Chi Chi is gone (she was adopted out to someone in Las Vegas last week!), Lux has been sticking to Tony and me like glue.

NEEDING - To stop eating horribly. I've been talking about this for ages, but I'm finally going to do something about it. This week I'm making the trek to the fancy grocery store to pick up a 3 day BluePrint Cleanse. Nope, literally a minute after I posted this I got an email for a 3 day juice cleanse for $125 including shipping on Groupon. This is WAY less then every other cleanse I've found, so if you're considering doing one, you might want to check this out. Wish me luck!

DOING - My BFF just had the most adorable child and I'm making him a hat for his newborn photoshoot next week!

  1. It's a good thing that you're aware of what you're doing. I think you have a good list to keep yourself busy while it's so cold outside ;)

  3. I too have become that person with crappy TV and the internet instead of reading! I've been trying to work to make it better since Christmas - my next book is also the Erik Larson one. I loved Devil in the White City so I'm hoping it's just as good. Here's to reading and being better people for it! ;)

  4. Good luck with the spring semester (hopefully the spring semester will lead to actual spring weather). I've been wearing PJs all the time lately too, I think it's the cold that makes you not want to change. Hopefully it will warm up soon and we can plan another get together!

  7. I was the same way with reading but recently discovered the beauty of renting ebooks from the library and have been reading a lot these past few weeks! I just finished The Cuckoo's Calling and am reading The Shoemaker's Wife now! So cool that you're starting a bath & body shop?! And I love that hat-- it looks so warm & you look gorgeous!

  9. Amazing pic of you! I did the blueprint cleanse awhile ago a few times. It works, and I wasn't hungry...however it is pricy. Good luck!

What kind of music do you listen to? I may have a few suggestions depending.

I'm glad that Chi Chi went to a good home! I imagine that Lux misses her though.
