Versatile Looks for Any Summer Event

Summer is always the busiest season here- between weddings, Travers and Opening Day, end of the school year events, and meeting up with friends, we're usually busy every weekend. I love getting dressed up, but I'm also all about functionality. If I'm going to spend a over $100 on one piece of clothing, I want to make sure I'm going to be able to wear it more than once. Here are five dresses outfits that are super versatile and will work for either a formal wedding event or a more casual day at the races or company picnic, depending on how you accessorize.

I love this Lilly Pulitzer dress - It is so fun for summer! I love all the little details of this dress - asymmetrical cold-shoulder sleeves, high-low hem, ruffles, and of course because it's Lilly, a super cute print! All of the accessories are practical and versatile on their own and would work well with a variety of looks. However, I love these Chloe sunglasses! As a full time glasses-wearer, I'm thinking about buying them and having the lenses replaced with prescription lenses. Has anyone done this before - if so, let me know about your experience!

This romantic outfit is appropriate for any casual event or garden or afternoon wedding. I love the sheer, long sleeves on this Gal Meets Glam dress, which add a little sun protection but won't get too hot. Paired with a v-neck, I think it's modest and comfortable without being stuffy. If you've been reading my blog for very long, you know that I already own these Ralph Lauren Cecilia wedges in navy and wear them with every outfit. They are so versatile and comfortable!

Personally, I think it's too difficult to choose a favorite, and I love them all! That being said, I tend to lean towards pieces of clothing that are also work appropriate - not too short, not too low cut, and if they are sleeveless, will look good under a blazer or cardigan. This J.Crew dress would look adorable in the office with a red cardigan and a wide belt. Skip the fascinator and clutch, and you're ready for a meeting.

Another favorite outfit of mine. I think I NEED these glasses! This look is a throw back to the jazz age with vintage vibes from this feminine Kate Spade dress. Rhinestone Loren Hope earrings and cuff add a little sparkle, and embellished heels make this perfect for a formal event or evening wedding. Blush has shown itself to be a color trend that is going to turn into a classic, so I think it's wise to invest in quality pieces like this Tory Burch clutch. After all, light pink is practically a neutral!

I actually just ordered this dress. I am hoping the reviews on it are accurate, because everyone loves it! I think this is such a fun summer dress and the price is so reasonable I don't mind going a little out of my comfort zone with a more adventurous cut. I'd also love to expand my boater hat horizons with this super sweet pink velvet boater from Lack of Color. So dream!
