Vote for Women - Mrs. Banks Disneybound

This was not done intentionally, I didn't go into this Disbound thinking I would be making any sort of political statement, in fact, this entire outfit was inspired when I saw this J.Crew Factory ruffle skirt and it immediately reminded me of Mrs. Banks from Mary Poppins. But here I am, and I am living for this look! My favorite part about this versatile outfit is that without the sash, it's completely appropriate for wearing to work!

I started off with the skirt and then started looking for a top that would match the same shade of blue and have a blousy look to it. I found the winner on Amazon in this lovely periwinkle blue blouse. I particularly love a pussy bow, the most appropriate accessory for a suffragette inspired ensemble. I already owned the hat (if you don't have a straw boater hat, get one, I have gotten so much mileage out of this hat!) and I made the sash myself. It was quite easy, I picked up a $5 blank sash from Amazon Prime and used my Cricut and heat press to cut out and press the letters. No joke, I did it at 2am, a few hours before I had to board my plane! Add a pair of white gloves and patent leather oxfords (mine are old, but this pair and this patent leather pair are both on my wish list), and you're all set.

Coincidentally, my lovely friend Shell had decided to bound at Mary Poppins (her hat is her mother's wedding hat!) and I think we made the perfect pair for high tea at the Grand Floridian!
